Hey guys, as many of you know I work in a domestic violence shelter. From working in a domestic violence shelter I have found food to bring women together across communities and Nationalities. I began to collect recipes from them as a way to remember them when they no longer are in our shelter. You can also make these foods at home to bring your family and friend closer together to enjoy ethnic foods across many different styles of cooking. I will start with Maria's Salsa Verde.
Ingredients:
4 or 5 jalapeno peppers
3 green tomatoes/tomatillos
A couple branches of Cilantro
1 garlic tooth
You steam and bring to a boil the green tomatoes along with the jalapeños, until you see their color changing. Then you blend them alongside the raw cilantro and the garlic. You add one tablespoon of Knorr Chicken seasoning, and salsa should be ready. Goes great with chips.
